Blockhead - Ludum Dare 55

SUMMARY: The stone giant strikes again! You play as Green Block and your job is to protect the castle at all costs from the invading minions by summoning your blockhead friends.

MECHANICS: Summon blocks to create paths through the levels and find the exits! Avoid the patrolling fire enemies or bury them in blocks.

You can summon 3 types of blocks:

1. Basic Blocks – these fellas do their job well and sit there without complaint. Stack them up to ascend vertical challenges.
2. Shieldheads – these guys will deny anything that comes by them. They’ll protect you from fire enemies with great aplomb.
3. Walkblocks – they don’t care what’s going on as long as they can walk back and forth. Hop on them for some easy transportation.

Be careful not to summon too many blocks or you may block yourself from finishing the level!

CONTROLS:

• Use ‘WASD’ to move your character
• Press ‘Space’ to jump
• Hold ‘Shift’ to run
• Press ‘E’ to bring up the summons menu
• Then press ‘Tab’ to alternate the 3 different summons
• Then click and drag the mouse to fling them far away!

Note: you can summon while walking, running or jumping.
